Maspalomas is heralded as the natural wonder amongst the resorts of southern Gran Canaria and IFA Faro Hotel lies alongside the jewels of its crown.
The fabulous 6 km-long beach starts at the foot of the IFA Faro Hotel, stretching eastwards to merge into neighbouring Playa del Inglés. The backdrop to all this is provided by the natural lagoon of ‘La Charca’, the Maspalomas palm grove and the beautiful expanse of sand dunes.
Guests have only to exit the swimming pool area and they are practically on the beach. The ‘Charca’, a pleasant spot for a stroll to gaze at the ducks and migrating birds that grace its waters, lies directly behind the beach and a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. Just beyond this, the palm trees of the Palmeral grove signal Maspalomas’ natural oasis and, spreading before all, the beautiful sand dunes open up all sorts of possibilities, whether it be for pleasant walks, camel rides or a short trek to the nearby nudist beach.
Animation is also close at hand. The scenic coastal Faro Boulevard promenade, a popular thoroughfare for strollers, starts very near the hotel and leads to the stylish bars, restaurants, discount shops, golf course and casinos of neighbouring resort, Meloneras.
Behind the hotel, Maspalomas provides additional forms of leisure and entertainment. Restaurants, bars and shops abound here as well as sports providers and a wide range of amenities. Taxis are readily available at the entrance to the hotel and the bus stop, providing regular services to nearby resorts and to the city of Las Palmas, is a few minutes’ walk away from the hotel. Maspalomas Golf is located nearby.
