Inland Route - Valleseco
The next stop on this route should be the village of Valleseco. The curiosity about this name literally meaning ‘Dry Valley’ is that this area has more rainfall per year than any other region on the island.
Apart from the Iglesia de San Vicente Ferrer (church), whose original chapel dates from the first half of the 17th century, and the Laguna de Valleseco (Valleseco Lagoon), which fills with fresh water during the winter months and which was recently subjected to important environmental restoration programs, this quiet village in the mountains has not much more to offer.
During the winter months many migratory birds, including the common egret, make this area to their temporary home.
