One of the main attractions in Las Palmas is the Pueblo Canario (Canarian Village), located within the Parque Doramas. In the 1930s, the brothers Néstor and Miguel Martín-Fernández de la Torre conceived the idea of building the Pueblo Canario as a way of promoting increased interest in local culture and traditions.

Nowadays, visitors can stroll past the houses of a typical Canarian village and admire the famous wooden carved balconies, turrets of the traditional architecture. Twice a week, the main square doubles up as a stage for folk groups who perform lively dances to the sounds of local songs; enjoy the show while you sample some delicious Canarian delicacies at the Bodegón Canario, washed down with generous supplies of local wine, of course!

The Museo Néstor, mainly exhibits the works of Symbolist artist Néstor Martín-Fernández de la Torre and there are also regular cultural activities programmed such as concerts and conferences.

A pretty and very relaxed place in the heart of a big city, the Pueblo Canario is well worth a visit.
