Gran Canaria’s fabulous climate and varied beaches attract visitors to its shores all year round, with the numerous resorts and hotels offering an abundance of facilities that aim to satisfy all travellers’ needs. These resorts all offer varied entertainment, a good nightlife, beach amenities, plenty of shopping opportunities and a myriad of bars and restaurants, so how do you choose the location and hotel that suits you best?

Thanks to our local knowledge of the island, Spain-Grancanaria can help you narrow down your choices by recommending hotels in a variety of resorts, as well as apartments, hostels or villas, guaranteeing the best locations, the most competitive prices and high quality accommodation.

San Agustín, one of the island’s first resorts, is a peaceful destination with a lovely long beach and home to the prestigious Hotel Meliá Tamarindos. This hotel houses the first casino to be built in the south of the island and is surrounded by manicured gardens that lead down to the beach. The nearby Gloria Palace San Agustín Thalasso & Hotel boasts the best thalassotherapy centre in Gran Canaria.

The adjoining resort of Playa del Inglés, the most well-known in Gran Canaria, is the most animated in the south of the island. Hotel Neptuno enjoys a central location near the Hard Rock Café, the Kasbah shopping centre and the popular gay venue, the Yumbo Centrum. Situated further inland, Vital Suites Hotel & Spa (formerly known as Dunas Vital Suites) overlooks the Maspalomas golf course in a quieter area of Playa del Inglés.

Maspalomas is a more peaceful resort and home to the glorious sand dunes and natural reserves of the lagoon and palm grove. The prestigious IFA Faro Hotel is situated at the very entrance to the beach.

The trendy resort of Meloneras lies just beyond the Faro lighthouse. More sophisticated than other resorts, it boasts casinos, exclusive shops and a scenic promenade. The Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort Spa & Casino enjoys a central location near the lighthouse and promenade while the 5-star Lopesan Villa del Conde Resort & Corallium Thalasso offers fabulous sea views and a luxurious spa. The Lopesan Baobab Resort is situated just behind Meloneras and contains large recreational areas in its African-inspired surroundings that children will love.

Puerto Rico and Amadores have sheltered, golden-sand beaches. Marina Suites is in Puerto Rico’s dynamic marina and harbour area and offers excellent family-friendly apartments and a superb infinity pool that overlooks the sea. The Amadores beach hotels, Gloria Palace Royal Hotel & Spa and Gloria Palace Amadores Thalasso & Hotel provide excellent sea views from their cliff-side vantage points.

Although a more isolated resort, Taurito’s beach is complemented by its enormous ‘Lago’ salt-water swimming pool. The large complex of Hotel LTI Valle Taurito provides an extensive array of leisure activities.

Removed from the coast and located amidst the breathtaking mountains of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana valley, Hotel Rural Las Tirajanas offers stunning views and a number of hiking and mountaineering activities in this scenic part of the island.

In the capital of Las Palmas, the fabulous beach of Playa de Las Canteras is situated right next to the hub of the city’s nightlife. It is bordered by a popular promenade, lined with a profusion of bars, restaurants, hotels and shops and is a favourite place for strolling. Hotel Cristina Las Palmas gives onto the beach. AC Gran Canaria is also very close to the beach and just around the corner from the popular Santa Catalina Park. Further removed from Las Canteras and situated amidst the exotic gardens of the Parque Doramas lies the elegant, colonially-inspired Hotel Santa Catalina.
