According to the latest data of the Canary Islands Statistics Institute (ISTAC), Gran Canaria received around 354,000 foreign tourists last April, which corresponds to a 32% increase and 86,000 more international visitors than in the same period last year.

From January to April 2017, approximately 170,000 more tourists than in 2016 have chosen Gran Canaria as their holiday destination, totalling over 1,600,000 visitors who arrived on the island.



The UK had the largest growth in 2017, with 46,000 more tourists (22% more than in the first quarter of 2016), totalling over 256,000 people. The German market has also grown 13% in 2017 (an increase of 44,000 visitors compared to the same period last year), reaching 377,000 German tourists.
